VMHC Membership
| The Virginia Miniature Horse Club was originally created in 1993, and reorganized in 1996, for the purpose of promoting quality miniature horses in the state of Virginia, and providing a local resource network for mini owners. The VMHC has grown to over 70 member farms, representing not only Virginia, but also Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida! Members include veteran owners and breeders as well as new owners who are just discovering this wonderful equine breed! |
| The VMHC meets every two months, often at different host farms, and offers an educational topic at each meeting. Additional events are scheduled throughout the year, including special educational clinics, picnic driving events, year-end awards event, and an annual auction. The club hosts two club-pointed shows each year, with at least one cash pay-back class per show! These are fun shows designed to encourage the novice showman to participate and experience how much fun the show ring can be, and learn showmanship techniques in a comfortable and supportive environment! This is great preparation for the more formal registry-pointed shows! |
| The VMHC publishes a bi-monthly newsletter six times per year, and offers members up to (3) free 25-word “for sale”, birth announcements”, and “looking for” postings per issue! The newsletter is free to VMHC members! |
| Another member benefit is the VMHC web site, www.virginiaminiaturehorseclub.com, which offers members an opportunity to link their own miniature horse farm web site to the club web site, as well as an opportunity to advertise their minis for sale through the club web site! |
| Virginia has a large population of quality miniature horses and enthusiastic, fun owners! We welcome new members from any locale, and encourage participation in all events! Even if you do not own a miniature horse (yet !), you too can be a member and enjoy learning about and being around these marvelous animals! |
